Evaluation Services
Primrose Psychology provides comprehensive evaluations using a neuropsychological framework for children, adolescents, and young adults. Our evaluations provide families and educators with a comprehensive understanding of the child’s neurocognitive strengths and weaknesses, yielding meaningful recommendations for instructional strategies and interventions/accommodations to promote the one’s overall growth and development as an individual interacting with their environment.
What Does the Evaluation Entail?
- Evaluations begin with a 1 hour intake session meeting with parents to obtain background information related to the presenting problems or area of concern. A unique plan for assessment is developed following receipt of all necessary background information.
- Consultations with teachers and/or other professionals.
- Testing can take anywhere from 6-10 hours depending upon the nature of the concerns. The evaluation is usually completed in 2-3 testing sessions in the office.
- Initial feedback session takes place two weeks after the last testing session where results and diagnostic impressions, as well as recommendations are shared with the families.
- A comprehensive evaluations report is provided to the family no more than one month after the initial feedback session.
- At the discretion of the parent, Dr. Hyle will also meet separately with the child/adolescent to review the results of their strengths and weaknesses using language and information appropriate to their developmental age.
